Dear Incoming First Grade Parents,
If your child is a current St. Greg’s student, they have been registered for Khan Academy. If you are new to St. Greg’s, you will have to register them yourself. They will use this site to keep their skills sharp over the summer. They will need to complete a minimum of 15 hours on lessons of their choice from Khan Academy. In September, your child will need to show a certificate of completion for their hard work and efforts over the summer. You should have already received a class code from Mrs. Mulligan on the Google Classroom page, but if you did not, the code is listed below.
Have a great summer and I look forward to meeting you all in September!
Thank You,
Ms. Claire Berry

Dear Incoming Second Grade Parents,
To give your child a “head start” in second grade I have assigned summer assignments in Khan Academy. Your child will be required to complete at least 15 hours of work in order to receive a certificate of completion. The work will include both Language Arts and Math.
If your child is a current St. Greg’s student, you will be getting an invitation and instructions to join Khan Academy thru Google Classroom. You will need this class code (7FDUHXZE) to set up an account for your child. If you are new to St. Greg’s, you will have to go to Khanacademy.org to register them.
I would also ask that your child read or be read to during the summer. I have included a Summer Reading Challenge book list. I will collect the list the first week of school. Your child will receive an extra credit grade of 100% if completed.
It is also important that your child memorizes their math facts to 20. So please practice over the summer.
Thank you for your cooperation. Have a great summer.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Carmela Raffetto

MATH
Dear Parents/Guardians and students,
The summer assignment for students entering 4th, 5th, and 6th grade is used to
practice grade level objectives and to improve math performance with word problems. The assignment will be posted on Google Classroom and the school website and will be available throughout the summer. For the incoming 4th and 5th grades there are 40 multiple choice questions and the incoming 6th graders have 36 multiple choice questions. These pages can be printed, or answers and work can be written on separate sheets of loose-leaf paper (proper heading is required on the loose-leaf). Please number the work with question it corresponds to. The math teacher will be collecting the assignments on the FIRST FULL DAY of school. It is important that you make sure your child does their absolute best on this assessment, so the math teachers can see where skills need to be reinforced. Have a wonderful summer.
As an incentive all grades can earn 3 Mathletics certificates and bring them in on the first day of school. These certificates must be earned on different weeks. They will receive 5 bonus points that can be used on an assignment in the first trimester.
For new students who would like to take advantage of Mathletics, please email Mrs. Jennifer Roy at jroy@sgtgca.org and she will assist you in setting up your Mathletics account.
Sincerely,
